Volunteer Administrator

Supporting people in Renfrewshire and Inverclyde

Quarriers Scottish Epilepsy Centre provides residential assessment to people with complex epilepsy. Referrals are made by NHS consultants and the Centre is registered with the Care Commission as an independent hospital.

The centre is looking for a Volunteer Administrator to work with the Senior Administrator in providing admin support to the multi-disciplinary team.

The addition of a volunteer will allow the Senior Administrator to expand the admin support to the team.

The main tasks include:

Typing of clinical correspondence
Answering the phone
Greeting out patients
Photocopying
Filing
Archiving
Administration of out patient appointments
Administration of admissions
Invoice processing
Ensuring financial requisitions (e.g. HOBS) completed on time
Inputting and creating reports using Excel
Creation of medical files
Transferring of medical information on video
The skills/qualities required are:

Knowledge of Office 2007; I.T. experience; commitment to customer care; excellent communication skills; flexibility; ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary team.

The Volunteer Admin post is for one day per week however it can be negotiated.

Training and support will be provided by the Senior Administrator. The volunteer will also have access to Quarriers internal training.

Own transport a benefit. However there is an bus service between Johnstone Station and Kilmacolm via Quarriers Village.

Travel expenses/mileage will be provided. Lunch will also be provided.
