Befriender for John
Supporting people in Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Moodiesburn.
Cumbernauld Supported Living is for people with Learning Disabilities and supports 11 people in the Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Moodiesburn areas.
John has a learning disability, visual impairment and limited communication skills. John receives 178 hours support per week from Quarriers.
The purpose of this role would be to give John the opportunity to meet new people. A chance for John to form other supports for himself out with Quarriers and his family. For John to have company and the opportunity to participate in activities when one member of Quarriers staff is on shift. John requires 2 people to support him to access some activities outside his house.
The main tasks would be supporting John in the activities he enjoys. John enjoys going out for a walk. John enjoys various other activities depending on his choices that day.
John at times uses a wheelchair when he is out when he is tired. John has a visual impairment and requires to be guided at all times.
