Volunteer Gardener/Handyman

Quarriers Supported Living Initiative, Torrance

Quarriers Supported Living Initiative provides supported living for people who have sustained a head injury.

Brian lives in his own home and he is supported by the project, however an enthusastic person who has an interest in gardening is needed to undertake various garden tasks and maintain the garden.

The main tasks are:

  • clear overgrown area
  • repair fencing
  • clear overgrown beds and rockery
  • digging over former vegetable patch
  • reinstate garden to a manageable level

The skills and qualities required is someone who is familiar with gardening and a bit of a handy person, also someone with knowledge of plants to be able to select plants which do not attract bees

The volunteer would be undertaking gardening in the Torrance area of Glasgow and can decide day and time when it suits.

Travel expenses to project will be provided and garden tools are available for use.

Application is through application form, informal interview, disclosure check and references.
