Volunteer Gardener

Supporting people in Kirkintilloch.

Ally is a gentleman in his late forties with learning disabilities.  A volunteer is needed to assist and encourage Ally to tidy and clean his garden, cut his grass and plant vegetables and plants. Volunteer should build up a friendship with Ally, get to know him and spend time with him in his garden.

The potential volunteer should have and interest and skills in gardening.

Where and when?  This would take place in A's garden once a week, weekends or evenings, possibly for 1 or 2 hours each time.  And in the winter if the volunteer could also keep in touch with A if a friendship has been built.

Get to know A and his staff first by coming for a chat and coffee.  A gets on well with everyone of all ages, both men and women.
