Supporting people in Renfrewshire

Renfrewshire Head Injury Service – supports individuals, families and carers aged between 17-64 who have a acquired brain injury.  We also support individuals families and carers come to terms with the effects of the brain injury.

A volunteer is needed to be part of the social group and to help people being supported become an active part of the group.

We would like a volunteer to play an active part of the social group that is held every Friday 1-3pm.  The volunteer would also be there to assist staff in setting up a new group which will be held the 1st Tuesday of every month.

The current group held in local project and takes place every Friday 1-3pm.

The volunteer should have experience in working in groups also be enthusiastic, committed, have good interpersonal, written and communication skills.

Training would include brain injury awareness training along with Quarriers house introduction and Quarriers policies and procedures.

Volunteer should contribute to anti-discriminatory practice and promote staff enterprise, participation and consumer involvement.

Selection methods would include application form, informal meeting, references and disclosure checks.
