Supporting people in Renfrewshire

Renfrewshire Head Injury Service – supports individuals, families and carers aged between 17-64 who have a acquired brain injury. We also support individuals families and carers come to terms with the effects of the brain injury.

A volunteer is needed to support individuals to enjoy activities either at home or in the community on a one to one basis. 

The volunteer would be supporting individuals to attend community held activities and social activities.  Also to support individuals to carry out activities at home.  All activities will be varied depending on the individual’s interests.

This would take place at the client's home or in the community.  Most activities are held within the Renfrewshire area although some maybe outside the area.  All volunteering will begin from the service or at the person's home.

The volunteer should be friendly, approachable, enthusiastic, committed, good interpersonal skills, good verbal and written skills.

This would be quite flexible on times and dates, although some individuals may attend an activity every week on a set day.

Induction and training will includeBrain injury awareness training along with Quarriers house introduction and Quarriers policies and procedures.
