This supported living initiative is based in a small community house, in the East End of Glasgow. The house is designed and adapted to meet the particular needs of the individual. The service has been developed to offer support to a young man with a learning disability on a 24 hour basis, including staff sleepover cover.
The service operates on a supported living model, which separates the housing and support provider. Support is provided in all areas of living, including personal care. The individual has a tailored support plan, which is based on the principles of person centred planning. This package allows the individual to fulfil his needs and wants, whilst also offering him the opportunity to be treated as a valued member of society.
Referrals are received from the Local Authority Social Work Department.
