Who we support
Our main referrals are for adults in the age range of 18-65. We also facilitate an independent travel training programme at a local school. Referrals are made via monthly meetings at the Social Work Department.
People wishing to use our services are required to travel to the project independently. Expenses for activities are discussed and agreed with the service user.
How we support people
Quarriers Community Supports was set up as an alternative to traditional social work day services and to increase choice of opportunity for people.
Support staff assist people in accessing community activities of their choice. These include bowling, drop in cafe group or the healthy living initiative which is a forum to discuss issues such as smoking, healthy eating and drug/alcohol awareness.
We're also able to provide care at home for anyone who needs assistance in maintaining their tenancy. This may involve help with personal care, shopping, budget management, advocacy, and general household tasks.
The plan of care is based on person centred planning principles and is tailored to meet the individual's needs.
