Calvay has been developed to support around 9 people with learning disabilities from the Greater Easterhouse area of Glasgow to have an ordinary living experience. Support is provided on a flexible basis with each individual averaging around 15-25 hours support per week.
The local housing provider in the area provides the majority of accommodation for people using the service. Accommodation comprises of 2 and 3 apartment flats. Each individual has a tenancy agreement with the housing provider.
The service has at its core the principles of person centred planning. Such opportunities ensure that the needs, wants and aspirations of each person that we support are met within their individual personal plans.
Support can range from attending health appointments, finances and budgeting, completing and maximising benefits, emotional support, dealing with all housing matters, recreational and leisure opportunities, employment and training advice as well as liaison with external agencies, including Social Work.
Referrals are received from the Local Authority Social Work Departments. Support can be provided to a wide age group and is typically offered to adults aged 18-50 years.
