Drumchapel Supported Youth Housing Project provides a high standard of accommodation and support to young single people aged between 16-25 who are homeless or threatened with homelessness in the Drumchapel area of Glasgow.
Young people are allocated their own tenancy from one of the local housing providers and a named Project Worker who will offer support on a one to one basis.
An individual support plan is agreed with the young person which looks at whatever areas of support that individual needs to help them live independently in their own home. Support can cover a range of issues including budgeting, benefits, cooking, shopping, emotional issues, loneliness, neghbour issues, employment, training and advocacy. The Project is also able to access good quality furniture packages which involve no extra rent charge to the tenant, thus avoiding any negative effect in securing paid employment.
Referrals can be made to the Project by any agency, or as a self referral.
