The Quarriers Family Resource Centre in Greater Easterhouse, Glasgow has been a remarkably effective and innovative multi-agency project.
The project began life in June 2000 in a small flat in Ruchazie but has since grown into purpose-built premises. Many agencies have seen the importance of the project and lent their support in tangible ways.
A recent evaluation of the centre was carried out by staff from the Social Work Research Centre at the University of Stirling. The project merited formal evaluation because it has become regarded locally and across Scotland as a “flagship” service.
A one-day conference will share the groundbreaking practices developed and implemented by Quarriers which have contributed to its particular success in engaging with and supporting families.
As well as speakers from the centre, delegates will be able to hear from other projects and services that have had similar success in creatively and positively working with families to
promote the welfare of children.
