Seafield School provides education for children from 7-17 years who often have emotional and behavioural issues. Some children live at Seafield - each group of children live in a unit, which has its own accommodation. Each unit has its own name: - Arran, Bute, Clydeview, Greyhound Cottage and Merton.
Our other children come to Seafield from their own home. This group of children are part of the Ailsa Craig day unit.
Education
Seafield School has changed the focus of its educational provision. It has broadened out from a primary focus to embrace the needs of those children requiring the range of opportunities found in secondary school.
The primary stages (1-5) address the myriad of educational, social and emotional needs as exhibited by all children. The focus is very much on the 4-14 curriculum with teachers and carers planning collaboratively to ensure individual education programmes identify targets, which can be accessible and make a difference to the child.
The secondary stages strive to offer children yet more opportunities to grow. The children have a broad range of subjects to engage in (Maths, English, History, Geography, Art, PE, PSD, RE). Certification has begun to take its rightful place in Seafield School. Standard Grade subjects and Higher Still access courses are seen to be the way forward for senior pupils.
