South West PA Awards spotlight Quarriers South West England services
Ruth McKibbin, Quarriers Bath Regional Office Administrator, was named Best Newcomer at the South West PA of the Year Awards, staged by Bath Business News at Ston Easton Park Hotel on Wednesday 4th July 2012.
Chris Chart, Quarriers Service Manager who nominated Ruth for this award, said, "Ruth has brought energy, fun and a real positive ‘can do’ spirit to the organisation in the last 9 months. She undertakes all her administrative and PA roles quickly, efficiently and to an extremely high standard. Ruth has shown her real commitment to the charity by organising three fundraising events much of which has been in her own time."
Ruth joined Quarriers South West England Services in October 2011 as the Administrator and PA to South West England Service Managers after a successful career as a Music Educator in Australia. Since making Bath her home in 2006, Ruth has also become well known to local audiences and businesses as a soprano soloist and choral conductor.
Ruth formed a choir from scratch to sing for Quarriers including caroling last Christmas in Corsham, a community event in the Parade Gardens bandstand in Bath and a Jubilee Proms concert at Lackham House, Lacock.
"As well as raising much needed funds for Quarriers local work with disadvantaged and disabled children, Ruth has raised our profile and recruited over 20 volunteers who are prepared to sing and perform for the organisation," said Chris. "She is a real star."
Ruth said, "I am delighted that this award highlights the work of Quarriers who have been working locally to provide care and support for vulnerable children and adults since 2004 and whose staff are dedicated to helping to transform the lives of the people we support."
