Quarriers' highly trained professional staff have the expertise and experience to provide training courses that best suit your individual or organisational needs.

Quarriers can deliver full courses at our excellent training facilities in Quarriers Village, or at external premises to best suit your needs. We can also accommodate your employees on internal courses. We aim to offer you a high quality range of training courses at competitive rates. Courses we are currently offering include:

Autism
Develop an understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and its effects and to consider how you can work positively with a child or adult within the spectrum. 
 
Epilepsy and Rescue Medication
Develop knowledge and practice in relation to the administration of epilepsy and rescue medication.
 
Epilepsy Train the Trainer
Develop the skills and knowledge forsupport staff to become trainers in the field of epilepsy and rescue medication for their own organisation. 
 
Safer Handling of People
Develop the understanding of safe load management, risk assessments, handling techniques and legal requirements.

Offering A Warm Welcome

Quarriers Gateway Training Department was established initially to meet the development needs of Quarriers staff. Now, due to increasing demand for training within the sector, we're able to make these superbly equipped facilities available for external organisations to book.

Quarriers Gateway training venues offer a bright, spacious and welcoming environment which can be tailored to meet your organisation’s needs.

Facilities

The available rooms at the Gateway are:

  • The James Arthur Room
  • The Stewart Room
  • Seminar Room
  • The Byron Room (IT suite)
  • The Coats Room

Available in all rooms are a projector for computer presentations, laptop, overhead projector, TV and video.

The Gateway has wheelchair access and all training rooms are on the ground floor. In addition, there is an accessible toilet. Tea and coffee is provided throughout the day. Catering for full day courses is also available - please ask for details.

The James Arthur Room

This room can accommodate 24 people seated, with an assortment of table configurations. The room is equipped with a flip chart, whiteboard and projection screen.

The Stewart and Seminar Rooms

These rooms can accommodate 16 and 10 people respectively, and have an assortment of tables for easy configuration. Both rooms are equipped with whiteboard, screen and flipchart.

The Byron Room (IT suite)

Our Byron Room provides 10 desktop computers all with flat screens and read/write CD ROM drives. All computers have speakers with the option of headphones. Microsoft Office 2003 software is installed with Windows XP. The layout and acoustics of this room lends itself to all types of training and learning. There are a number of specialised pieces of equipment for users who have manual dexterity difficulties, including large type keyboard, forearm support, height adjustable desk and adapted mouse.

This suite is available for day and evening bookings.

The Coats Room

The Coats Room consists of a seated area for approximately 15 people. The room has been customised for moving and handling training and has a large floor space with a variety of equipment including two beds and two hoists. The room is also equipped with TV, video, DVD and OHP.
