Even if not directly financial, over half of community partners believe business support has been of significant financial value.
Impact Assesment, Business in the Community/Mori 2002
Peoplematters, a learning and development organisation, were interested in how they could make a positive impact on the community and contribute to the corporate social responsibility agenda. Any cash donation they could have made would have been small and so they wanted to think of other ways to offer value. After discussions with Quarriers, Peoplematters decided to donate a business service and the best service they could offer was to identify a development need and design and deliver a solution that would help to meet the gap.
As Quarriers has experienced phenomenal growth over recent years, Peoplematters designed and delivered a leadership development programme for over forty of Quarriers senior managers which helped them focus on human elements of change, how people respond and behave through change, and how managers can harness the human reactions and responses to create a productive environment and high performing teams.
The opportunity provided by Peoplematters has made a significant impact on the organisation. Just as importantly it will continue to do so as Peoplematters have provided our senior managers with the tools to deliver training more widely within the organisation so that the development of the organisation is consistently shared and understood at all levels.
