Support for adults with a disability

Person supported by Quarriers sitting on a couch.

From at-home care and assisted living to self-directed support and playing an active part in the community, our adult disabilities all have one thing in common: putting the needs of each person we support first.

What we do

At Quarriers, we know that there are many ways in which disability can affect lives, and that each person with disability responds to different levels of support.

We specialise in supporting adults affected by:

  • learning disabilities
  • complex physical disabilities
  • acquired brain injury
  • autism

Adult fostering and family placement service

Quarriers Adult Family Placement Service is a small, well-established project with more than 25 years experience of supporting adults with disabilities to live with families. The service is registered with the Care Inspectorate and we provide placements for a number of local authorities. Our service is sometimes described as shared lives. We assess, supervise and support carers to provide a home and support to individuals with disabilities. We have a number of placements that have lasted more than 20 years.  We also recruit part–time carers to provide respite for up to six weeks a year. Find out more.
