Raeberry Street

Raeberry Street is a dual registered service and first opened in 1992, initially in response to the hospital closure scheme. It provides flexible and needs led support to adults with learning disabilities who live in their own homes in North West Glasgow or West Dunbartonshire.

Support can be offered in a variety of settings from individual tenancies to the family home. Depending on assessed needs, support can vary from a few hours a week to 24 hours a day. Support could include budgeting and financial skills, cooking, shoppin, support to make/attend appointments, support to access education/employment, leisure activities and general domestic skills.

The service is also able to provide supported short breaks. In order to provide a holistic model of support, we use a multi agency approach which includes strong working relationships with Health, Social Work, Housing and other organisations.

Each person will have a comprehensive support plan and will be allocated a support co-ordinator who can help the person review and update their support plan as necessary.

Our aim is to provide a high quality service which is tailored to the needs of the individual and supports the person to develop their full potential.

The service is funded via a series of funding streams including Glasgow City Council, Self Directed Support budgets and people receiving the service may have to make a contribution based on a financial assessment.

Referrals usually come via Social Work Services after an initial assessment by a local team. The service welcomes self referrals from people who have their own budget. On receipt of all referrals, an assessment is completed to ascertain whether or not the service can meet the identified needs of the person.

The service is registered with SCSWIS. Informal enquiries can be directed to the Project Manager who will provide additional service and referral information.
