Across Scotland, thousands of people look after loved ones with a disability, illness or addiction. For many it can be a struggle. Quarriers is here to make sure carers are supported in as many ways as possible.
H1 - Support for carers
Looking after the people you love or care about comes naturally to most of us. But caring can often come at a price. It can mean devoting 24 hours of every day to looking after someone who is ill. It can mean struggling to help someone with a disability while holding down a job. That's why Quarriers is committed to caring for carers. When it all gets too much or you need to see a friendly face, Quarriers dedicated carer support services can help you.
H2 – Supporting the needs of family carers
For every carer there is an individual story and a special set of circumstances. You could be caring for a parent, your son or daughter or a brother or sister. You might be looking after your husband, wife or partner, a friend, neighbour or relative. The people you care for may need help because they have a disability, mental health issues or a long-term illness. They might need help to overcome alcohol or drug misuse. They may be too frail or elderly to cope on their own.
When you care for someone you don't see them as a statistic, you see them as an individual. At least that's what Quarriers believe anyway.
H2 – Quarriers carer support services in Scotland
Quarriers is here to listen to, encourage and support carers. We will prioritise your needs and give you advice and information specifically for carers. Our carer support centres in Glasgow and Moray (www.quarrierscarersservice.org.uk) offer expert, no-strings attached guidance for carers. It's our job to boost each carer's self esteem and mental health. We'll help you take breaks and get access respite care. At Quarriers, we know that every caring role presents challenges and every carer is different.
