Countryview

Countryview offers regular short breaks to families who are caring for a child aged 5 to 19 years with a learning disability.

The focus of short breaks is to provide the child with the opportunity to meet new friends and be involved in recreational activities that meet their needs. During their visits families have the opportunity to take a rest and have a break from the responsibility of looking after a child with a learning disability.

Countryview has eight beds in a purpose built bungalow that is fully accessible and offers single bedrooms, a multi-sensory room with visual and tactile play equipment, lounge shower room, bathroom, kitchen and large enclosed garden.

Countryview is an non-commissioned service and therefore able to accept referrals from any Local Authority. Referrals to Countryview are generally made through the Social Work Department who will complete a needs assessment. Families in receipt of Self Directed Funding can make an application directly to Countryview.
