Christine's story
“My epilepsy has been really hard on my daughter. She’s missed a lot of schooling. She works really hard, she’s very good, but she’s definitely missed out. I couldn’t do the things with her we used to do – I couldn’t take her ice-skating, or out on the bikes. We used to go cycling a lot and it had to stop. I could take her swimming, but not get in the pool with her. And some of her friends would tease her badly. They’d make fun of me lying on the floor.
Some of my friends started avoiding me. They feared what I could and couldn’t do. Things like going out had to stop. It puts your life on hold.
Quarriers’ epilepsy centre gives people life-changing opportunities – whether those are wee minor changes or great big ones. I’m back to being normal. Every day.”
