Quarriers Supported Youth Housing

Quarriers Supported Youth Housing Project provides a high standard of support to young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.

We work specifically with young people who are: Single, aged 16-25years old, who wish to be housed in the North and West Areas of Glasgow.  The Project is registered with Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS) as a Housing Support Service to be provided to young people who are already in supported accommodation, have been homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, staying with family or friends on a non- permanent basis or who have been looked after and accommodated by a local authority.  The young people supported are generally offered their own tenancy by a Registered Social Landlord (RSL) as a Section 5 Referral as a homeless person or as part of the Leaving Care Protocol Statement of best practice.

The Project has three main aims:

  • To actively engage with young people in the North and West area of Glasgow to prevent homelessness occurring
  • To support service users to live independently within their own homes
  • To access a range of employment, training and educational opportunities.

The Project has an office base in Drumchapel and offers support from 9.00am to 7.00 pm Monday to Friday, and 11.00am to 7.00pm on a Saturday. Outwith these times the project operates a 24hour on-call service.

The support the Project offers varies with the needs of individual young people and includes a range of supports, while working with young people to assist in finding suitable accommodation, build essential life skills, which enable young people to maintain their own home.

We offer information and advice, assist on a day-to-day basis with budgeting, benefit claims, health matters, emotional well being, cooking skills and any other practical support we can offer.
