140 years of Quarriers

Quarriers has been providing care for 140 years.  Now that’s something worth celebrating.
In 1871, William Quarrier founded a charity to help children whose lives were blighted by poverty and loss. 140 years later, the way in which children, young adults and families receive help has changed. However the goal of providing hope, encouragement and support remains the same. Quarriers’ 140th anniversary is a time to reflect but also to plan ahead. We’ve won a special place in the hearts of many people and we hope to continue doing so for another 140 years.

Celebrating 140 years of care

In 2011 Quarriers marked our milestone 140 years by supporting three 1 minute films on Scottish Television. Each features a well-known celebrity describing a turning point or milestone in their lives. It was the moment which changed them forever.  For Quarriers these stories sum up the way in which you can transform yourself or the lives of others. 140 years in action have taught us that anyone can work their way towards a better life.
