What If Female: Walking the Journey Together

We provide safe homes and caring support for young women aged 18–25 who have experienced homelessness and trauma. Our aim is simple: to walk alongside each young woman as she builds the stability, skills, and confidence to shape her own future.

Each young woman brings with her unique experiences and strengths, and we recognise that past challenges may shape how she connects with others and settles into her community. Our role is to listen deeply, offer consistent and compassionate support, and create safe, nurturing spaces where trust can grow.

Together, we focus on building skills, confidence, and connections that help young women feel secure in their home, valued as neighbours, and hopeful about their future.

We prioritise consistent, empathetic, and non-judgmental support so that young women feel safe, heard, and respected.

We connect young women with therapeutic resources and offer compassionate care that helps build resilience and strengthen emotional wellbeing.

We provide support with managing a tenancy, navigating benefits, and engaging in education, training, or employment, ensuring young women feel equipped for independence.

Through person-centred support planning, we work alongside each young woman to recognise her strengths, nurture her goals, and support her choices about how she participates in her home, her support, and her wider community.

We ensure that all our spaces and relationships are physically and emotionally safe, stable, and nurturing. Young women can influence how the project operates and shapes the support they receive.

What we offer:

The following issues will describe the range of issues being faced by the young adults we support:

  • Personalised Support: Every young woman works alongside a key working team developing an individual support plan, tailored to her needs and aspirations.
  • Holistic Support: We work in partnership with other services to provide coordinated support such as mental health, substance use, social work and justice teams.
  • Practical Support: Guidance with managing a tenancy, learning how to run a home, and building skills for employment, training, and community life.
  • Safe Accommodation: A secure, supportive, and non-exclusionary environment that provides continuity of care and stability for growth.
  • Partnership Working: We collaborate with local agencies and communities to ensure young women are supported by a strong, connected network.
