You could help someone like Jack
Jack was placed in care aged 5 because of neglect and domestic violence in his home. He stayed in over 20 different care placements during his childhood. He’s now 19 and will be supported by Quarriers this Christmas.
Young people like Jack have not had the childhood they’re entitled to, and their experiences have often had a lasting impact on their development and their mental health.
By donating today, you can make sure they have something to open on Christmas morning. To receive simple, nice things normalises life for them. It helps them feel like any other young person.
Imagine a young face lighting up thanks to you.
Youth homelessness in Scotland – a growing issue
4%* more homeless applications were made by young people aged 16-23 in the past year.
11% more applications were from young people with a mental health need.
Top 3 reasons given by young people making a homeless application
- A violent dispute within the household – 11%
- Non-violent family breakdown – 19%
- Asked to leave the family home, care placement or wherever they were staying – 41%
The young people we support don’t have family they can rely on, and Christmas time is tough for them. Donate today for a young person to receive a wrapped gift with a warm message written on the gift tag. With your help, we can bring them some much needed Christmas cheer.

Your gift helps us support young people to reach for brighter futures

Our focus is on advocating for young people – speaking up for them and fighting their corner when they face inequality.

We support them to learn life-skills like food shopping, cooking, and looking after themselves.

We help them find their strengths, build their confidence, and take steps towards work, education or training.

** Gift bundles represent the kinds of items that young people require and would benefit from. We ask young people what they would like, but we also work to make sure that their gifts are practical and useful to them. Support workers put love and care into wrapping up your gift to give to them, and young people are so grateful.
Once the funding required is raised, your donation will be used where it is most needed within Quarriers.
