Notice of intention to temporarily close Countryview Respite and Short Breaks Service
Quarriers has come to the difficult decision that we must temporarily close Countryview Respite and Short Breaks Service, as of 1 November 2023, due to critically low staffing numbers.
We fully understand the importance of this service to the families who use it, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause.
This temporary closure is necessary to allow us to conduct a comprehensive recruitment drive to address staffing issues and ensure that we continue to have a fully staffed, dedicated and compassionate team.
During this closure, we will take the opportunity to upgrade Countryview’s facilities, while new specialist staff are trained and put in place for the re-opening.
I want to emphasise that this decision was made with the utmost consideration for the safety and wellbeing of those in our care.
We will keep everyone updated on our progress and provide a clear timeline for the service’s resumption. We are committed to making this closure as brief as possible.
Our intention is to reopen the service on 1 April 2024.
We appreciate the challenges this decision may present for the families who use the service, but our commitment to the safety and quality of our care means that the temporary closure is necessary.
The staff and families that use the service have been notified of the temporary closure.
