The angelic voices of schoolchildren, church and community choirs will be heard throughout December in Princes Square, St Enoch Centre and Braehead Shopping Centre. There will also be a special one-off performance from Rockus Choir at Tesco, Linwood, on Tuesday 5 December from 7-8pm.
The event is raising money for Quarriers services across Scotland, which support more than 5000 people and help make a positive impact on their lives.
This year, 19 schools are taking part, as well as 13 community choirs, making 2023’s Festival of Choirs one of the biggest to date. The Festival offers a fantastic variety of choirs including Westerton Male Voice Choir, based in Bearsden, and the award-winning SoundSational Community Choir from North Lanarkshire. Above all, the collective sound of children singing is what ultimately steals every performance.
We encourage everyone to take a moment to enjoy the singing and if they can, pop some money into the collection boxes to help Quarriers fund the outstanding support it provides throughout Scotland.
Louise Strachan, Quarriers Events and Community Fundraiser, said: “We are thrilled to have The Festival of Choirs back on our Christmas events calendar. All the choirs are looking forward to being involved, and we are grateful for all their support. We can’t wait for everyone to hear them perform a range of festive favourites.”
The children of Bridge of Weir Primary are excited to be involved in the Quarriers Festival of Choirs which is being staged at various shopping centres across Glasgow.
